Hi, I'm a new member who recently "adopted" a Ball Python and I need a little help. Overall she "Zoey" is doing well. She was terribly mistreated, skinny, partial shed (skin hanging all over her), she's 4 feet long, and has eaten twice in the three weeks I've had her. I was able to bath her and remove all of her excess shed cleanly except for one eye cap. She has an excelent tempormant, considering what she had been thru.
I need a little information about breeding

I tried breeding my ball python, and since we separated them both she has been rubbing her head off of her belly and her head off her tank and her log, but she has never done this before. She has also been lying in an oval shape in the same corner with her head on her belly. She has been acting a little strange aswell. Could you tell me if it is possible that she is pregnant?

Thank you

Hi, Just found this site and am I glad I did. I am from Chicago, Il. and just recently "adopted" a Ball Python. She was living in an apartment with three young boys 20-22 years old, and she was terribly mistreated and they did not want her any longer. I found out about this from my step son and immediately took action. I already have a corn snake, so I am not new to owning and caring for snakes. I have had her now for three weeks and I have a ton of questions for all of you. ...

Hey all,

I just got my new rack today. This is the first rack I have ever owned. I must say that it is real nice, and has lots of room. I bought the 7010 unit with the Helix therostat, and a power strip.

It took about an hour to get ir all together and setup. I am letting the temp get up before I put my snakes in. I was looking online and found a light sensor for the thermostat that adjusts the temp to the sunlight. What a great idea. Now you don't have to adjust the day light cycle. ...

Hello,

This month has been pretty crazy for me. I quit a job and am in the process of looking for another to fill in. It's amazing how bored you get when you have nothing to do. I am looking forward to starting a new career.

My life before I quit was pretty full of bull. Never had time for the family and never had any extra money to actually go out and do anything. Since I quit my family and I have taken some great road trips around Southern Colorado. Last weekend we took a trip to ...

Hey, it's early here (Philadelphia, PA)-5:30 am and I can't sleep. I am a brand new normal ball python owner so forgive me if my lingo is not correct. Purchased on 3/8/08-from pet store-told he was captive born, When I purchased my snake, I was told that it was 3 months old-unable to determine sex, no probe available. I asked when he last had a mean, because I wanted them to show me that he would eat, but unfortunately, they feed on Friday's so they were unable. They told he was currently ...

Today I am going to talk to you about what you should do if you get bit by a Ball Python, and what you should do after.

I have owned snakes for about 10 years now and have been bit on a number of occasions. There are a few guidelines you should follow in order to not hurt the snake.

One of the biggest mistakes people do when they get bit is to pull their hand or arm away as quick as possible, bad idea. Not only does this hurt your snake by pulling their teeth out it also will shred ...

This is something new in the Herp World. I have read the policy and submitted my oppinion. I think we should all participate in this to help with keeping our passions and love for these animals around for many more years.

This act would make it hard for breeders to sell their snakes across interstate borders. If this was to happen, you can say goodby to the supplies you need for your pets, food, cageing, substrate, anything that has to do with Boa's and Pythons. Help us help you!

This ...

Are you A breeder?

I would assume that there are not very many breeders amongst us. I have to say that the thrill of being able to manipulate the environment to encourage breeding and seeing the end product a baby ball slitting it's shell, amazing.

I can say it helps with supporting my collection and obsession.
