Last time this happened I rushed to the vet and ended up being that he was getting ready to shed and I ended up spending a fortune in vet bills.

So I was wondering, what are other signs of potential stomatitis? He not showing signs of distress. So how do I know if he's just getting ready to shed or if its something else.

Hello. I am so very new to this kind of pet. I acquired a young male BP from my son who got it from my grandson. Up until now, this boy was at the hands of my kids who didn't even bother to learn how to care for him. Now, I have had him about a month and he is happy in his new home. His enviromnent is much improved and I am learning more each day. Before, he was having feeding issues, incomplete sheds etc. Eating like a pig now and I hope the next shed will be better. He has retained eye caps ...

Hi I'm new to snakes, I just bought my first ball python. My husband and I bought a adult ball python as a graduation gift and really got attached to him. When we found my ball he/she was just 4-6 weeks old. He is eating live and frozen thawed well.

My family and I went to the reptile show in Tampa Florida a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it. We even got two snakes for our daughters.

I can not believe how much I am enjoying having snakes in my life. I was raised in a home that ...

Stryker(my snake) weighs 230 grams..hes also about 30 inches long. he takes them down no problem. Just wondering if i should be feeding him 2 of these at this weight or upgrade him to rat pups or when is a good time to switch him to rats and what size.
Bumbl Bee Ball Python

I just bought a new baby Bumble Bee Ball, since i have gotten her home, after I left her alone for about a week, she has been a little aggresive and nippy. I was talking to someone else I know who has Bumble Bee a bit older, and he said that his is the same way. He thinks that this type of morph is just like that, a bit more nippy then other Balls. Has anyone else come across this, or is this just a freak coincidence?

My eldest ball python, a male I would assume about 2 yrs (not sure because I rescued him), he has been in excellent health since I got him feeding him on a regular schedule (he was really skinny). But...

I've recently noticed, however, that he makes a noise thats not wheezing or coughing but it's not a hiss either, its more something in the middle. He does it randomly; I've notice more when I've ...

Nonnative Wildlife Invasion Prevention Act – HR 669

Last year, PIJAC testified on behalf of the pet industry in opposition to HR 6311, the 2008 version of the Nonnative Wildlife Invasion Prevention Act. That bill died at the end of the 2007-2008 legislative session. A new version – HR 669 – has been introduced.

HR 669 contains many of the problematic provisions found in last year’s bill, plus even more restrictive provisions. PIJAC urges people to remain calm while the bill works ...

A few months ago, my bf and I purchased two baby ball pythons, a male mojave and a female cinnamon. At first, my male was shy and not very active and was constantly hiding, while the female was active and friendly. I have them housed together at the moment until I can find a spot for more tanks. They are currently in a 10 gallon tank and seem to love it in there. I have noticed that if I take one out, the other will come out and look for the one missing. I hope that this is alright to keep them ...

Hi to all

Fluffy is my newest snake, he is a royal python about 5 years old. got him from someone who could not take care of him. he is a very sweet snake, I feed him live prey ONLY. I do not think its right to hinder a snakes natural instincts.

I breed all my mice at home to insure they are healthy and fat.

I have never had a problem with feeding him. when I first got him( 5 months ago) he was very skinny and I don't believe he ever had a heat source.

Hi,

I just bought my first ball python this week, she/he is three weeks old, sex is unknown as of yet. I am having trouble regulating the temp and humidity. I am using a heating pad under 1/3 of the vivarium and the heat lamps over top, one for night-time and one for day time. I find that the temp drops to around 72degF at night and the humidity gets to around 48-52%. During the day I am continually misting because of the lights, but can maintain the humidity around 55-65%. The top ...

My 3 year old ball has made a home in the water pool for almost 3 days now. Her colors are normal so I don't see her trying to shed. If I pull her out and refill the water she will go right back in it. I have put the heat lamp directly above it now to keep the water warm.

Hey all,

I just got my new rack today. This is the first rack I have ever owned. I must say that it is real nice, and has lots of room. I bought the 7010 unit with the Helix therostat, and a power strip.

It took about an hour to get ir all together and setup. I am letting the temp get up before I put my snakes in. I was looking online and found a light sensor for the thermostat that adjusts the temp to the sunlight. What a great idea. Now you don't have to adjust the day light cycle. ...
