I have had my snake for almost two months she was poorly taken care of by previous owner she lived in a cardboard box w/ no water food or light for a week before i took her. "she"... i think is about four 1/2 feet and very round and thick. She seems very happy in her new home which i had limited money to set up and maintain. She has not shed yet and i'm not sure y. in her tank which i think is a 20 or 30 gallon im not positive she has bark as bedding which i have a small heating pad. im not sure where to place it under her tank. she has a half log to hide in which she fits tightly i took a rock from outside put it in there and a water bowl. her bowl is not big enough for her to soak in unfortunatly i cant fit a bigger one. is this a ok set up for a tank.

HI! Glad to here you took her in. I can't stand people who get a snake and the treat it badly...your snake likes to climb and hang on limbs, I would get some branches from outside or from a store. Heat pads and heat rocks are a bad addition to your cage, if you get a pad put in underneath the cage. keep the temp between 80-90 durning the day and 75-80 at night.
When your snake sheds you need to increase the humidity, a bigger bowl or a wet towel or a spray bottle will help with that.
good luck to you! remember it takes time to bring a snake back to health don't get discouraged!
